It was like a scene from Alien for this diver after he was attacked by an octopus in the middle of the sea.

The man managed to capture the terrifying moment with an underwater camera, which shows the eight-tentacled sea creature leaping at his swimming mask.

Using its suckers, the octopus attached itself firmly to the man’s face and refused to release its grip.

The man can be seen fighting for air, and even resurfacing above the water in an attempt to detach the creature.

Mr Kepesidis keeps calm as he struggles to pull the animal’s suckers off one by one in the 90 second clip.

Eventually, the diver manages to turn his camera around, showing viewers the octopus clinging to his skin.

After some time, he manages to remove the octopus from his face, but the creature continues to stick to the skin on his arm and hand.
